What is the US Route 60 at Evergreen Place, Traffic Signal Upgrade Project?

The Project includes the partial removal of the existing traffic signal at the intersection of US Route 60 (East Nelson Street) and Evergreen Place; reusing the existing traffic signal and pedestal poles, conduits, junction boxes, and electrical service; and the installation of new traffic signal equipment including new span wire & tether cable system, signal heads, conductor cables, controller cabinet, traffic signal controller, UPS system, wireless vehicle detection system, emergency vehicle preemption system, wireless broadband radio, pedestrian push buttons, pedestrian signal heads and appurtenances, and other equipment as required.

What is the construction schedule?

Construction is anticipated to begin spring of 2024 and expected to be completed in one month.

Traffic Impacts

One lane of traffic will try to be maintained at all times, although full closures may be required to establish a safe work zone per the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual.
