General Reassessment of Real Estate in Lexington has been completed. Notices of property values were mailed the week of  May 2, 2022. Reassessment values can be viewed at Assessment Appeals will be accepted through email or mail and must be received no later than May 25, 2022. Taxpayers who do not receive a reassessment notice should contact the Contracted Assessor’s Office at 540-460-3383The Board of Equalization hearing dates will be listed on the City of Lexington website and in the News Gazette in July 2022.


The commissioner of revenue, as a representative of the City of Lexington and the Commonwealth of Virginia, serves our community by:

The commissioner of revenue is a locally-elected constitutional officer responsible for administering various local taxes.
